What is on the gaming floor

The casino covers more than 40,000 square feet and is entirely smoke-free. It has over 500 slot machines, available whenever the casino is open.

Live table games run only from Thursday to Sunday, in the evenings. If tables are the main reason for your trip, plan around those four days. A Monday to Wednesday visit means slots only.

All employees working at casinos in Manitoba must be licensed by the LGCA, and South Beach Casino is listed as one of those employers. The LGCA is the provincial body to contact if you have questions about gaming in Manitoba.

Dining, drinks and hotel amenities

There are several places to eat on site:

  • Mango's Restaurant: breakfast and dine-in menus.
  • Café: a lighter option for a quick stop.
  • The Palms Buffet: dinner buffets on Fridays and Saturdays, breakfast buffet on Saturdays and Sundays.
  • Blue Dolphin Bar: open daily 11:00 am to 2:00 am. Food is served Sunday to Thursday from 11:00 am to 12:00 am, and Friday and Saturday from 11:00 am to 1:00 am.

The hotel has amenities worth knowing about if you stay overnight:

  • Tropical Pool: open 7:00 am to 10:00 pm, then adults only from 10:00 pm to 11:00 pm.
  • Arcade: open 11:00 am to 12:00 am.
  • Fitness centre: open 24/7.

A weekend stay lines up well with the buffet schedule and the table game hours.

The Ocean Club loyalty card

The Ocean Club card is free. You need valid ID to register, and again to redeem rewards.

Points convert to Beach Bucks at a rate of 400 points for $1. As an illustration only: if you collected 10,000 points, that would be worth $25 in Beach Bucks. Points and comps expire after 12 months of inactivity, so occasional visitors should keep track of their last visit.

Other member benefits:

  • Up to four $20 food vouchers and four 20% Gift Shop coupons, earned with every 7 hours of rated play in a calendar month.
  • 10X points on all slot machines on Thursdays.

Rewards are a bonus, not a reason to play longer than you planned. Decide your budget before you arrive.

Before you leave home

A short checklist makes the day easier:

  1. Bring valid photo ID. You need it for the Ocean Club, and the venue can confirm its age rules if you call ahead.
  2. Check which day you are going. Tables are closed Monday to Wednesday.
  3. Confirm hours by phone if you are travelling on or near a holiday.
  4. Set a spending limit and a time limit, and leave cards you do not need at home.
  5. Save the Manitoba Problem Gambling Helpline: 1-800-463-1554. It is free and open 24/7. You can also call 211 to reach community and health services.

If you would rather play online from home, the provincial site for Manitoba residents is PlayNow Manitoba, run by Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries. It is separate from the resort, and it shows an 18+ requirement.
